JASON SHERMAN

Founder of Beyond Zero

Jason Sherman is the Inventor and Founder of Beyond Zero. Capitalizing on creativity and recognizing business opportunity are rooted in his upbringing around an entrepreneurial family. A master of thermodynamics with no formal training, Mr. Sherman has built the only machine in the world that makes, stores and serves ice made of alcohol. He has been instrumental in developing the vision, strategies, and relationships of Beyond Zero since founding the company. Mr. Sherman relocated the company to Louisville, Kentucky in 2015 to manufacture the company’s products in partnership with Winston Industries.

Mr. Sherman is a member of the Florida Bar and received a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. He also studied International Law at Cambridge University’s Downing College in England. Mr. Sherman received his Bachelor of Business Administration specializing in Finance from Georgia State University, graduating in the top 15% of his class and also attended Florida State University.

Mr. Sherman served as Finance Director at Quickparts.com where he learned about manufacturing processes and participated in helping the company become recognized as an “INC. 500 Fastest Growing Company in America.” The company specializes in providing custom prototype parts for manufactured products and was acquired in 2010 by 3D Systems, a leader in 3D printing technology.

Mr. Sherman’s business acumen has assembled a world class team to move the company from a startup into the real world. He is a strong believer that the best place to “Make It Happen” is Kentucky because it is the nation’s hub of manufacturing and the capital of the US Spirits Industry.

TIM COUCH
VP of Marketing & Sales

Tim Couch, the Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Beyond Zero, is a visionary from within the liquor and beverage industry for over 20 years. His knowledge and network of industry veterans is a tremendous asset for the company.His knowledge and network of industry veterans is a tremendous asset for the company. Trained at Southern Wine & Spirits in beverage sales and distribution, Mr. Couch has transitioned into rolling out emerging brands and playing an instrumental role in their sales growth.

Mr. Couch was the On & Off Premise Manager at Redbull North America, where he was on the original marketing team that launched the product in Florida. The organic buzz and demand worldwide led to an entirely new category of beverage, the energy drink.

After the market matured and seeing a new challenge Mr. Couch joined Southern Wine & Spirits as its Florida Area Manager. Mr. Couch eventually moved to Constellation Brands, the largest wine producer in the world. He became a key member of the Svedka vodka product roll-out in the Florida Market.

His concepts and innovative marketing strategies helped Svedka become one of the strongest selling vodka brands in the United States. Mr. Couch also brings with him the experience of having owned and operated his own venue in Newport Beach, California in the late 90’s. The knowledge Mr. Couch brings from having worked in every aspect of the Alcohol Industry is an enormous value to the Beyond Zero brand.

BOB MANDEL
Chief Financial Officer

Bob Mandel, is the CFO for Beyond Zero. He is an accomplished senior executive with over 30 years of experience in financial management and operations. Mr. Mandel’s expertise in scaling early stage companies into cash flow positive high-growth entities is a reflection of his extensive involvement in mergers, acquisitions, private placements, and restructurings.

He has worked across a number of industries, company sizes and ownership structures. During his tenure as the Chief Financial Officer of OptionMonster Holdings, Inc. and Option Monster / Trade Monster his team managed the company through a large private equity transaction, merger and successful sale.

Prior to Option Monster he was the CFO of Univa UD, where he as the first employee, Mr. Mandel led the company from its formation and initial fundraising stage, through to its acquisition of their largest competitor. Mr. Mandel began his career at Price Waterhouse in Chicago and has also worked for SEI Information Technologies, Tellabs, NAVTEQ, Unilever, and Baxter Healthcare in various financial and operating capacities.

Mr. Mandel also dedicates time to his community and has participated by serving on a number of non-profit boards over the years, including Misericordia which is a home to over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental and physical disabilities, Lisle Teens with Character, an organization whose mission is to provide leadership training to teenagers and community service, and IC Stars, a technology based workforce and leadership training program for low-income inner-city adults. Bob graduated with a B.B.A in accounting from the University of Iowa and has an M.B.A from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

PAOLO PINCENTE
VP of Marketing & Sales

Paolo Pincente, the Director of Operations for Beyond Zero is now well into his third decade of hospitality management and operations. He brings to the Beyond Zero team a wealth of knowledge from the perspective of a world class venue operator. Mr. Pincente has been an instrumental part of the creation, management, and operations for some of the largest nightclub and lounge brands on the planet.

His ability to leverage a brand has led to Venues under his management to be recognized in the Top 10 of the Nightclub and Bar Top 100 Rankings for yearly revenues for Crobar Nightclub and Club Space Miami respectively. He has managed teams with over 150 employees and knows operations for the front of the house as well as the back of the house.

Mr. Pincente got his start in Chicago with Big Time Productions, most famously known for its Crobar Nightclub brand. He branded 14 other distinct and unique concepts in Chicago through the late 80’s and early 90’s. A crucial part of the expansion of the Crobar line to South Beach Florida, Mr. Pincente then branched off to develop a successful Palm Springs restaurant, Trio. Lured to Miami to operate Club Space Miami, he oversaw the business which generated over $10 million a year. Mr. Pincente also has experience producing some of the largest Miami Music Conference Week’s parties. He has produced events with the Surfcomber Hotel Kimpton Group, National Hotel, Ice Palace Studios, Mana Studios, and the Raleigh Hotel, all of which are internationally known as South Florida icons.
